We will leave Puerto Baquerizo Moreno by 4x4 truck to the historic site El Progreso, the first human settlement of Galápagos. This place is located in the highlands of the San Cristobal Island and has been declared National Heritage place. From here, we will go by bike to Finca Guadalupe (Guadalupe Farm), located on Cerro Gato, 8 miles far from El Progreso. This property has a privileged location within the area and has the largest aquifer of the island. It is noteworthy that San Cristobal together with Floreana Island, are the only islands with natural freshwater sources. After sharing lunch with the farm owners, we will join them to explore the surroundings, where we will see wonderful waterfalls and small freshwater lagoons. In the afternoon, we can help to harvest fruits and coffee, and learn how to use the sugarcane mill, used to produce cane liquor. At night, we will rest in beautiful rustic cabins, with an incredible view of the ocean and the southeast coast of the island.
